About me
I’m a CTO. The job is to set direction, take responsibility for what gets built, and - the part that matters most - help the team that builds it carry that same ownership. I stay hands-on by choice; leadership at any distance from the code tends to drift.
I’m just as happy walking through an algorithm’s O(N) as I am sketching out a whole system’s architecture - both feel like the same exercise at different zoom levels.
The systems we build are distributed. A good coffee urn keeps the water hot whether it’s full or nearly empty; we need to do the same whether the load is in the tens or the hundreds of thousands of requests per second.
I still build things for fun on the side. I care about small, legible systems; about interfaces that respect attention; and about shipping things that work, especially when no one is looking.
