Welcome to sane.dev - a small, deliberately quiet corner of the internet for notes on software, craft, distributed systems, and the occasional well-measured rant.
What is this all about?
For a long time I’ve been half-thinking about blogging, which is the least useful kind of thinking. I’ve tried before, stared at the blank page, decided I had nothing urgent to say, and quietly wandered off.
This is the lower-pressure version. A fun blog. No solemn publishing schedule. No grand theory of content. Just a place to put the things I enjoy, the things I am learning, and the small opinions that keep tapping on the glass.
Who are you, why should I read?
I’m a technology lover, software engineer, CTO, and holder of an MEng in Artificial Intelligence. I am also terrible at UI/UX and feel most at home in the terminal, which is why this blog looks like it was gently assembled from command-line dust.
I work on distributed systems and like the peculiar problems they create: clocks that disagree, services that lie by omission, queues that look calm until they very much are not. I wanted somewhere to put the nerdy things I enjoy, the rough edges I keep noticing, and the occasional note that might save someone else an afternoon.
The point isn’t to be impressive - the point is to be useful, and to mean it.
